Your Bio

My full name is Jodie Marie Anne Richardson Traugott, aka jm-ART!

I have added an entirely new gallery to my website. It is called PAINTED PHOTOGRAPHIC "JEWELS". I am very excited about this new work and I really hope you enjoy it also! There are more "Jewels" on my Etsy shop - JMdashART. Hope you can drop in to visit that shop too!

Most of this work I call "Numinous Nana". Numinous means "supernatural, mysterious; filled with a sense of the presence of divinity, holy; appealing to the higher emotions or to the aesthetic sense, spiritual" and all that seemed like a perfect name for these photographs, as I feel that EVERYTHING has a spirit, a spark of the Divine Creative power within. Nana, a nickname for Arianna, has become the face of that creative spark for me, my blank canvas, my muse. She also happens to be my granddaughter.


BY PUSHING ARTISTIC BOUNDARIES USING TRADITIONAL ART MATERIALS AS WELL AS CONTEMPORARY DIGITAL TECHNIQUES, I WILL SHARE WITH YOU THE DANCE OF OUR SOULS.

Madonna-Nana (and that rhymes!) Series : This is a series of photos of Nana that actually are not collages. They are all digitally altered and sometimes I have several versions of the same shot. I sat 12 year old Arianna on a chair in front of my lace covered window, wrapped a sheet around her and added a piece of tulle for a veil. I love the shots! And I do intend to paint several of them. The very young black Madonna is a beautiful interpretation of the ultimate story, in my mind, and needs to be presented!

Austin : This is a special addition to my smugmug pages. Austin is 8 years old and I took the portraits of him, some of which I've shown at the beginning of the gallery. But then I let him take photos of anything he wanted, which I then combined with his face shots (he took pictures of the rug, some real plants and some fake ones, flowers and the stone wall in the building, as well as a painting and a recycle sign!). I think they all turned out great!! And I love the concept of the two of us doing these images together and would be happy to do it for anyone else. Custom Photo Collage Portraits : Because a few people asked me to do this, I HAVE STARTED TO OFFER THE OPPORTUNITY OF HAVING A PHOTO OF YOURSELF OR YOUR CHILD, MADE INTO A COLLAGE. For Jenna, I went to her home and took the portraits. For Claire, I also took the portraits of her in her home. For Austin, you can read about how we approached his session in his OWN gallery (as well as see more collages)...it was a very special session! Molly's mom sent me some snapshots in an email. Alyssa's portraits were emailed to me also. Lashannon came to my home for a portrait sitting, so I shot her close-ups and then created some different versions for her. I can work with photos that you send to me, or I could come and do the initial portraits for you. Then the portraits can be collaged with my photos that I have on hand, or I could shoot things that are particularly important or relevant to the individual. Anything is possible!
